112 Miles was shot in the summer of 2003. It begins in Toronto, which certainly must be the finest example of a North American Metropolis. We go UP, into the tallest structure on planet Earth (the C. N. Tower)! A small, and remarkably non-famous little town called Trenton is next. This hidden gem of a place is shown at some length and recommended as your base, as you explore the beauty of the area. The prices are reasonable there; the people, friendly. Belleville, a small city that is NOT recommended is next, followed closely by the awesome, and quite beautiful Bay of Quinte, which is directly south of Belleville. Last, but certainly not least, is Prince Edward County - not to be confused with the Canadian province of the same name. The majestic Lake Ontario is almost always the backdrop for landscapes, the likes of which are rare, indeed. The video ends with an impromptu performance by a street musician, in Picton. He belts out his number "Black Soul Woman" with a gusto and an acumen, both bordering on the incredible! 112 Miles is not designed/produced like the vast majority of documentary or travel videos. The people that made the video are almost never seen! Only one commercial concern is featured, and that only because of its merit, certainly not because they paid, to be included. This video shows you the place it portrays. As for myself, I guess I'll just have to wait a little while longer (r.o.f.l.m.a.o.) to become a super-star. |
Sample Clips
You can get four sample clips, of approximately on minute each, below. They are provided in the "windows streaming media" format. However, there is no "standard" way to play video, on a web page. One browser does it this way, another that. So, I didn't even try. How will you use these clips? Well, that, like a whole lot of other things, depends on how well you can use your computer. If you know very little you can simply left click on the links. Several things might happen, depending on what browser you're using, and even what version of that browser. The video just might play! It's more like you will see a window, asking you what you want to do with it. It's better to save it to your hard drive because your connection might well be too slow to show it in real-time. You can save it to your desktop, minimize your browser, then double-click it to see it. If you're good with your computer you can right click on the link, select "save link target as" then save it to your hard drive, in the folder of your choice. Then use Windows Explorer (NOT Internet explorer) to view it, as many times as you like. Both the video and audio quality of the sample clips is Flat HORRIBLE. Still, they are one an three-quarter MEGs, each. That's a lot of downloading, for someone with a dial-up connection. The quality of the videos I make and sell rivals the very best of commercially-available products. |

Buy the 112 Miles Video
112 Miles goes for a paltry $20 (US), including shipping, anywhere in the continental United States. If you live somewhere else I'll have to charge for shipping. I simply add the cost to a base price of $17 (US). However, I can NOT accept payment in any currency, other than US dollars. You get your choice of DVD or VHS tape - same price! DVDs are burned DVD-R disks. I have found that they play on almost any half-decent player, but I DO NOT guarantee them to play on yours. There are no "regions" on these DVDs - they should play anywhere in the world. However, the videos (both tape and DVD) are N.T.S.C. (US standard) formatted. P.A.L. is the standard, used in Europe. That MAY cause these disks and tapes to play poorly, or not at all, on machines intended to use P.A.L. formatted video. I do not have a P.A.L. version available, at this time. |
